OnePlus has confirmed that it will launch its second-generation smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch 2, on February 26 at 8:30 PM IST during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. The company has also revealed the design and some features of the upcoming wearable device on its official website and social media channels.
The OnePlus Watch 2 will feature a round dial with a stainless steel body and a sapphire crystal glass. It will be available in two colours: Black Steel and Radiant Steel. The company claims that the smartwatch will offer up to 100 hours of battery life in full Smart Mode, which is significantly higher than most of the competitors in the market.
The OnePlus Watch 2 will also come with “meticulous health monitoring” capabilities, according to the company, but the details of the sensors and features are not yet disclosed. The smartwatch is expected to run on Wear OS, the Google-backed operating system for wearables, and support various apps and services from the OnePlus ecosystem.
OnePlus has also announced some pre-reserve benefits for the interested buyers of the OnePlus Watch 2. Those who purchase a pre-reserve pass for Rs. 99 can get a Rs. 1000 discount on the smartwatch and a free pair of Bullets Wireless Z2 ANC earphones. Additionally, those who subscribe to the launch event can also stand a chance to win a OnePlus Watch 2, a OnePlus keyboard, or other goodies for free.
The OnePlus Watch 2 is the successor of the OnePlus Watch, which was launched in 2021 and received mixed reviews from the users and critics. The OnePlus Watch 2 is expected to address some of the shortcomings of the previous model and offer a better user experience and performance. The price and availability of the OnePlus Watch 2 will be revealed at the launch event on February 26.
