Parents protest outside Goenka school, demand strict action against administration

Thane: A shocking case of sexual abuse of eight children from CP Goenka International School in Thane has come to light. The children, aged between 7 and 8, were molested by a bus attendant during a school picnic on Tuesday. The accused, Javed Khan (27), has been arrested by the police and booked under various sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act.

The school had hired a third-party contractor to manage the picnic trip to Kidzania, an indoor amusement park in Ghatkopar. The bus attendant, who had been working with the contractor for the past 10 years, allegedly touched the children inappropriately under the pretext of serving them food packets. The children were all students of class 2.

The incident came to light when one of the girls complained to her parents, who then alerted other parents through a WhatsApp group. The parents said that when they confronted the school principal and the teachers, they initially denied the allegations. The parents also questioned the role of the three teachers who were present in the bus at the time of the incident and demanded action against them.

The school administration has issued a statement saying that they have initiated an inquiry into the matter and suspended the teachers who were in charge of the picnic. The statement also said that the school has zero tolerance for such incidents and is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its students.
