Bengaluru Cafe Blast Injures Nine: Motive and Cause Under Investigation

Bengaluru, March 1: A low-intensity explosion ripped through the Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru’s bustling Kundalahalli area on Friday afternoon, injuring nine people, including staff and customers.

The blast occurred at approximately 12:30 PM at the cafe situated on Kundalahalli Main Road. Nine individuals sustained injuries, with five reported to be grievously injured and admitted to nearby hospitals. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation. Authorities are exploring the possibility of an improvised explosive device (IED) being used, based on initial reports from Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

A team of forensic experts is investigating the scene to determine the origin and nature of the blast. The area has been cordoned off, and tight security measures have been implemented.

CCTV footage, captured from a camera inside the cafe, shows the moments leading up to the blast and the immediate aftermath. The footage reportedly shows a normal afternoon scene at the cafe before the explosion, followed by panic and people fleeing the scene. The motive behind the attack remains unknown. Authorities are actively investigating all potential leads and angles.

The incident has sparked fear and concern among residents of Bengaluru. Karnataka officials have assured the public of a thorough investigation and urged citizens to maintain calm and cooperate with authorities.
